EVENT LINEUP
Apollo The Space Dog, by Eli Fischer and Jacquelyn Garcia – (Experimental art film, 9:04) A light-hearted, fun arthouse project featuring a dog astronaut. What more do you need to know? Fun concept? Great execution? Adorable star? Yes, yes, and yes. Is Bad Astronaut a dog-friendly venue, meaning that a certain canine cosmonaut will be in attendance? Swing by and find out.
Men In Cars, by Molly Vernon – (Faux true crime podcast episode, 8:33) Enjoy an episode of a true crime podcast covering the “Lone Star Lolita.” Unique, well-executed, and well-acted, this could easily be a real podcast, and I’m kinda bummed it isn’t.
Bongo The Elephant, by Blake and Blaine Childress – (Drama, 22:57) A heartbreaking, yet inspiring encounter between a cartoonist suffering from dementia and a salesman changes the monotonous day of the former and the life of the latter. The two stars absolutely crush it in this film, and it definitely deserves an audience.
Joe Returns A Video, by Joe Grisaffi and Rob Nielson – (Comedy, 12:25) Follow along with the naive and good-hearted Joe as he goes on a quest to return a VHS tape he rented years earlier. Packed with tons of blink-and-you-miss-them jokes, this one will have you saying “Wait, did they say ____?” over and over.
The Cabin, by Amanda Dianne. (Horror, 10:37) Young love. Summer dates. Supernatural evil? This date is to die for. An unsettling concept and top-notch SFX make this a nice creepy way to close the show.
